My Review:

Damn you, Marquita Valentine!!  I so did not want to have my mind changed about West Diaz and then you went with the words and the sentences and the writing and my mind was changed.  Damn you and your fine writing!!

Here’s the skinny: back in high school, West Diaz was a typical jackhole jock whose mission in life, on the outside at least, was to continue to be popular and be the single largest fish in a very small pond.  West had it all: the athletic ability, the family money, the beautiful girlfriend and, a gang of loud and lewd friends always ready for a good time.  All was right with the world until the moment McKenzie Walsh walked into his life.  From that moment forward, everything West pretended to want on the outside was very different from what he wanted on the inside.  Too bad he was far too much of a coward to admit his desires and stand up to his friends.

For years McKenzie Walsh has worked to overcome her dreadful high school experience.  She was bullied beyond belief with no logical explanation for the victimization and at the heart of her torments and ideally positioned to make all the madness stop was West Diaz.  From the moment she saw him, McKenzie was head over heels in love with West only to find her feelings sadly misplaced and her trust betrayed.  To make matters worse, McKenzie’s torment continued at the hands of West’s “friends” and time and time again, he did nothing to help her.  For McKenzie, moving on and beyond high school has been vital and she has successfully done so until the moment West Diaz walks back into her life.

With a bit of life behind him and a whole hell of a lot of guilt, West sets out to prove to McKenzie that he is a new man.  Not unexpectedly, McKenzie is in no mood to be toyed with and trusting West is something she is going to have to seriously consider.  Luckily, West is more than committed to his task and no matter what it takes, he will convince McKenzie that he is the man for her.

The Bottom Line: Once again, Marquita Valentine and her Boys of the South have swept me away with the awesome!!  I wanted desperately to despise West after what he put McKenzie through but that man really pulled it all together in the end and proved that actions really do speak louder than words.  More importantly, for myself is McKenzie and her attitude toward well, everything.  McKenzie lived through hell and came out stronger on the other side.  Her experiences helped shape her into a strong and capable woman who is unwilling to give in to anyone or bow down in the face of adversity.   I wanted to slap her for giving West a chance but I came to realize her decisions weren’t based solely on emotions but on a combination of her heart and her head.  Overall, All for You is wonderful addition to the Boys of the South series and I would sincerely like to see more of these short sweet reads as the larger series continues.
